Can the race cam be used on a street car or is the profile so extreme that it wouldn't be practical?
 
My opinion

No, this cam is definitely race-only.
The hottest street cams typically are about 305° duration and 10,6 mm lift.
 
intake tilt....

I'm guessing this wouldn't work on an x1/9, due to the difference in engine tilt? Or does anyone know how you could overcome that obstacle?
 
Cam and Tilt answers.

In regards to the cam on the street. yes, you could, however your car would idle at 1500 rpm, have no power till 4k rpm and go like a bat out of hell to 8 or 9k. Not very streetable. Not to mention, you would need bigger intake (carbs) etc...

In regards to the Carb tilt question. The 128's had a certain degree of tilt and the X 1/9's had another. Most of these manufactures designed the intake manifold right between the two. It would be a farily easy process for a machine shop to shave just enough off the intake side at the right angle for the X if that is what you are looking to do. Or you could run it as is. I ran a number of these and never really had any issues.
