Hi all,
I want to share with you the restoration project of my X86. That project is my crisis of fifty !.
In the far past I have be owner of X78 and I have enjoyed those years… now my X86 car will be my weekend toy and memories….
Ok…. Next,

I buy that X86 on April 2009 from the original owner in Montreal area. That guy buys it in NY.
In the spring and summer 2009 I work a lot on the mechanical side of the car.
I replaced:
The 4 struts
Replace all cooling Hoses (front and rear), Cap
Clean radiator, replace coolant, Thermostat
Cluth + TO bearing Pressure plate
4 tires
Burnish the 4 speedline wheel
Speedo Cable
Throttle cable
Heather Valve
Rebuilt the 4 wheel brake (Disc, hose, caliper, pad, Hand Brake Cables)
Rotor, distributor, High voltage cables
Change Timing Belt and tension bearing (Thanks To Matt “Midwest” for the help on the phone):help:
Order the Head light modification from "Bob Brown":king: “Insertable headlight harnesses”.
Etc..
At the beginning of September I undress the car at home to prepare for the painter and bring the car on a platform truck to the painter.

There are pictures of all that work done and it’s not finish…. You will see rust ding etc....and a very close new X green born.

Presently I'm tired and I need a slap from the X community:confuse2:

Wow! You've been busy!

Very nice work Yves! Looks like a total rebuild to me...
Looking forward to seeing the inside once you finish up the outside,
because the outside looks awesome.
I'm sure your efforts will pay off nicely this coming spring.

Looks great Yves

I like that color! Thanks for sharing the pictures. You have put a lot of hard work into that car.

Love that color. My first X1/9, an '82, was that same color. Like a dummy, I painted it white!!!

Great job...looks excellent!!!
I always am surprised how much you can take off a X1/9 and still easily recognize it's a X.

Xcellent travail Yves!!!!

Vous aller avoir un tres belle project. Bonne couleur.
Thaught I'd throw some french at ya. LOL Take a little break and admire the progress you've done, all part of the Fun. Hope to see it some day.

Bravo!

Très belle job!

You are just a few miles from Dany with his Giallo X nearly at the same stage. And there is a new Fiat-Alfa Romeo club in Québec. We will have some nice new cars to show them next spring! With Robert Moses, that makes 4 of us in the Montreal area on this forum. Do I forget somebody?

Yves...

I gotta say I am not in love with the color but am VERY impressed with your efforts and workmanship! Congratulations!

Wonderful Workmanship!

Very impressive work! You've accomplished a lot. What kind of bumpers do you plan on going with? Going to put the originals back on?

Michael

Looks Great

Love the colour too. I came close to painting mine that colour but decided to keep it yellow in spirit of the original colour.

Michael,
My wish it is to install the euro 74 bumperettes with the 74 grille:nod: but those items are rare:(.
For the moment I will put back the original bumpers and later when I will have the opportuneness I will plan that project.

I think my English writing is not so good ... you recognized that I am French. Ha Ha Ha
