JackingVehicle

One of the first problems I encountered with the X 1/9 was how to jack it up safely and without damaging it. This is the method I've found works best for me.

Under the rear end and directly centered under the engine compartment, there is a small plate attached to the transmission and motor mount. It's strong enough to jack the entire backend of the car. I start by jacking the car as high as I can with this jack point.

Next, the actual jack points under each of the doors is where I place the jack stands. Make sure to position them slightly forward, because the car will move forward a couple inches as the car is lowered. Check to be sure the car's jack points (the square tubing under the doors) are centered on the jack stands.

At this point, the front of the car can be lifted by hand. I usually slide under the front and bench press the car with one hand and place the jack stand under the floor of the front trunk. There's a little metal plate that is welded to the bottom of the car that I usually use, however because car is almost balancing on the jack stands in the middle, the car is light enough to place the jackstand anywhere.

When I take the tires off, I usually put them under the car as an added safety measure and to get them out of the way.
