I have my room booked for Friday night, so I plan to be there. Trying to get the 85X ready, but I have the 124 sedan as a backup. Or maybe I will just leave the cars home this year.

I certainly do. Thank you for posting the picture. The only obvious visible difference is I have replaced the rear deck lid without the spoiler. Are you going to the open house?

Made it to Columbus. At the Varsity South. There is a silver blue X from Ontario in the parking lot, so I am not alone.

Aha! It is Smaugz k20 X. I knew it looked familiar.

Just arrived. 7 hour drive through 4 or 5 storms. Glad I cheated and brought it on the trailer. Unfortunately the X now looks gray instead of Black. Definetley the dirtiest it’s been in ten years.
A big thank you to Matt for letting me drop the trailer and car at the shop.
See you guys tomorrow.

We made it to varsity in! Well that is the good news. Bad news. Trucks transmission is toast. Trying to get a hold of a few people back home to come down with a trailer to put the truck on and another truck to bring back the trailer with the x on it.

I'm sure you're going to have a wonderful weekend, last year I traveled from Montreal to Columbus with Kermit and had a whole weekend.
Marnie, Matt, Brayden and the MWB crew are amazing hosts.
Next year I will try to convince my wife to come with me.

Nice day in Columbus between the scattered raindrops. Several X's at Cars and Coffee and much more at MWB Open House. Great visits with owners, really great food, and great hospitality. Photo of Jim D's sharp newly painted X. Nick from MWB and others took a lot of photos; I'm sure they will turn up soon somewhere.

Dang it, I recently looked at a link, thought it was current, it wasn't! I thought I had already missed it. Dang it.

After cleaning hundreds of slaughtered fish-flies off the front of my Lancia from a Thursday night trip down to Toledo, I got the X1/9 all ready for the trip to Columbus. I remembered the speed of my wipers and the threat of rain so I RainXed the hell out of it. Boy, am I glad I did!

Left the house at 5:00AM and stopped in Marion, OH to look at this Panhard PL17. Sadly, it is just too structurally rusty for me underneath.

Doubly sad because all of the little bits that you could never find in a million years were on it and intact.

So I pressed on to Matt's a little relived and a little disappointed, but I pulled in with about 250 miles on the clock.

I read a book about this woman, Helle Nice. It was rather disappointing, but it was cool to see that she is being remembered. She died in obscurity rather down on her luck. Seemed to have gotten good reviews on Amazon but it seemed like hero-worship by the author who I think must have a crush on her or something. If you read a book about Fangio would you expect it contain naked pictures of him? Anyhow, if you were so inclined....

Great day at MWB. Got to finally meet everyone at the shop. Also met and made some more Fiat friends.
Left my X there for a complete engine rebuild and to add some go fast goodies. I’ll be back in a few months to pick her up. Take care of her Jon :)
I’ll post more pictures tomorrow, kinda beat from the 7 hour return trip.

I had such an awesome time I am heading back tomorrow! Ok. It's to pick up the X. We are still on the road hauling Dale's truck back. Get a little rest, a truck with a good transmission and back we go! Great time. Great people. Great cars. I will be posting pics as soon as I have time. (8 hours there and back tomorrow) . My favorite was the moss-mobile. The Yugo rocked!

Should point out that the food was OUTSTANDING!!!! The cold dishes, marinated mozzarella, tortellini, pasta...all the Italian cookies and pizzells.. the lasagna! Leslie Logan made all of it from scratch. It had to have been a huge effort and it was very much appreciated!
