What did you do to your X1/9 today ?

Trim stripped and ready to take to the restoration shop tomorrow for some cut/buff/polish work to make the finish pop.

Sorry, forgot about updating the rear-shelf speaker box thread. Now, they’re done. Wasn’t happy with the open-concept, exposed driver look, so I went to the local thrift store and grabbed a pair of generic home speakers to raid for parts, $5 for the pair!
Took off the grills, removed the cloth, recut and resized the plastic frames (the epoxy rebuild took a day to get right), then used 3M 77, the best quick-acting glue around, to stretch the cloth over the shrunken frames.
Then stole the post plugs from the donors, drilled into my boxes, and voila - the finished product.
My co-pilot said they looked like they came with the car.
The right answer. lol.
Sorry I forgot to take pics of the frame resizing, probably because I was swearing so much.
And the funny part? The $5 thrift-store speaker carcasses are pretty good little speakers to boot - think I’ll mount them in the garage.

Been on the bench for a few weeks but finished the cooling system clean plus a few items powered coated. All new hoses, clamps, hardware all around. I will some pics tomorrow outside now my suspension and brakes are done and the 14’s are on 🤓

Changed the trans oil with Redline MTL and “added” some Bluetooth speakers to play some tunes off my phone. I had one of these Anker Soundcore Motion + speakers and realized it was a perfect fit behind the seats. I ordered a second one as you can pair them for stereo sound. Also the app has an equalizer which is nice. I put some Velcro on the bottom of the speakers so I can continue to use them wherever whenever outside of the X.

It's amazing how even the slightest bit of volume from the shelf improves any other speakers in the car. Where are you powering these from?

How does one do this without a lift? Or did you have a lift...
It is not too difficult to get the rear of the car up high enough to slide the engine under it using jacks and jack stands. I actually used cement blocks and a 4x10 across the bottom of the car where the jack points are. I had an engine hoist so I used it to pull the engine up through the engine compartment to the correct position. You could probably do that step with a floor jack if you did not have a hoist.
