Not sure I’d say “cult”, these work really well, Give excellent throttle response, and are super reliable. No doubt a modern feel injection system is more precise and much more easily tunable but in. These were a revelation and are still quite good in use today. My 1974 2002 Tii has one and it makes for a very nice driving car.
