foreword: i like the idea to mount a system that uses the original point setup as trigger, this because i can always go back to points if electronic has failure, and also to not disturb the original dizzy and go in to complicate (for me) jobs.

i saw this 2 boxes, one it's supercheap and has a switch that turn the ignition back to point:

this one is supertrick and 5X priced:

what do you think guys? is the MSD magic (3 sparks below 3000 rpm..??) as claimed? do it worth all that money?

in the australian forum T124 there is a guy that said the MSD it's an huge improvement..did not find any opinions in the web on the cheap sparkrite tough

My advice is to get a complete x1/9 or Yugo electronic ignition. They are not failure prone so you don’t have to worry about a points refit on the side of the road. MSD is trick but the wiring is not simple.

I agree with Carl. A Yugo electronic ignition is great, spark so bright you could weld with it... However, it is hard to argue with a 30euro ignition system. It is so cheap that I would be worried.

MSD make rock solid parts, and I have used their systems in our race Fiats as well with no problems.

I would go with the MSD first, then try and find a Yugo one second and the cheap one last.

good luck, let us know what you do.
