Low Mileage
Hello all, I have reached a point in my life where I unfortunately cannot keep this car around. It is certainly a project but it does run and drive. I took it on a 4 hour road trip about a year ago and experienced no issues, got pretty good mpgs too! I have owned it for the past 6 years, and prior to my ownership the car sat neglected for 26 years. I'll need it gone within the next couple months. I would part it out but I simply do not have the time, it would make a great parts car for someone possessing a cleaner chassis.
I had the head off and found out that it looks like the engine ate some debris at some point in it's life, due to funds being short I decided to continue with the head gasket replacement and milling the head, there are dings in the pistons and the cylinder head. I took it on the road trip and have driven it periodically since completing the work. It always starts right up and drives more or less fine, though it definitely pings at highway speeds due to the hot spots created by the damage.
The odometer reads 55,910 but is off due to speedometer cable being disconnected (less than 1000 miles) Located in central Virginia
Make me offers, since I need it gone as soon as possible someone on here has the opportunity to get some decent parts for their X for a good deal, or if someone wants to take on the project and complete it you'd make me very happy.

Again it is a project so there are quite a few things still needing attention:
- Turn signals do not work
- Windshield wipers do not work
- Headlights currently do not work due to the switch melting, new switch included with car
- Front right headlight hinge rusted, it no longer holds the headlight housing on the hinge. would need repair for the pop ups to work
- Has rust. Front clip, floor pans, and rear trunk all need repair or replacement.
- Speedometer cable broken, odometer reading is inaccurate due to this. New cable comes with the car.
- Starts to overheat at low speeds/traffic because the cooling fan doesn't come on, cools down when moving.
- 1st gear synchro is bad, it still accelerates and shifts fine, but you cannot downshift into 1st gear
- No front grille and air-dam/splitter
- No bumpers
- Needs clutch throw out bearing replaced. I have the new one but didn't install it when I replaced the clutch. I did not have the spring clips to hold it to the throw out arm.

I do also have few parts that will be included with the car:
- New speedometer cable
- New throw out bearing
- New original headlight switch
- New upper strut mounts
- 2 sets of wheels, one with tires still mounted
- Spare targa top
- Spare 5 speed transmission from a 1979 X1/9
- Multiple boxes of old parts from the car, random new parts, and used miscellaneous parts.
