74 Fiat 128

Daily Driver
This is my 74 Fiat 128.
The simple anwser is life has changed quite rapidly since I bought it back.
I bought in 1998, sold it in 2002 to Eric Armstrong, and then bought it back in 2021.
I took it apart from a stock car, to do a father/son rebuild which never happened. It then became an autcross / track car.
I had plans to put it back together as a fast road car.
But my friend and business partner died, and I’m now into running my own company.
It comes with boxes of parts, extra trans, gear sets, carbs, etc. wouldn’t take more than a seat and a manifold to get it running again.
1.3, 4spd.
Minimal rust.

No clue what a 128 is worth anymore. I know what I paid to get it back to Washington from Texas, I hate seeing it sit in the corner of the garage.
$3000.

If it was located in the east coast Washington (DC) I would be more than happy to buzz over and look at it. But it's not.

As to your pricing question, it's hard to define in your case as it's not a complete street ready two door which would be the most desired body style for a 128. A potential buyer to your car would have to be someone comfortable with a project car. Most folks would want a street car and probably would be put off by a full cage. I bought an ITB X1/9 for about $500 hoping to make a fun street car but the cage in an X is a dangerous item if not wearing a helmet and the home grown coil over suspension was terrible. I kept the drive train and tried to sell the car with no takers and ended up taking it to a crusher.

You should probably post a lot more pictures.

You didn't mention if it has a title which is a big concern for any potential buyer.

It looks like fun for those of us with skewed visions of Fiats, good luck with the sale and hopefully it won't be a dust collector in your garage.

Hey Matt! Good to hear from you. Now I feel like I should drive back up to Bellingham and pick it up! ;)

For those of you wanting this, I can also provide you a bunch of information on this car, as my buddy and I built it to the current configuration. Lots of fun.

The dash is from a Maytag washing machine, so of course the car was named "Maytag". haha.

Matt, I think the 4 speed you have in it also comes with a Limited Slip diff as well. Makes a huge difference in a very light FWD car!

Too far away from me to be interested but I would love to hear about what you did to the car.

Matt lives in Bellingham, near the boarder of Canada on I5. It would not take very much to get the car back into full race mode. The cage should be good, the suspension was good, but that was years ago. Engine was fun but could be improved. Very light weight. Oh, rear transverse leaf spring was removed as we switched to coil overs.

Looks like fun... Any additional pics? Ideas on pricing? Trying to find a Fiat project car for my son. Thx.

I'm also in North Alabama. There aren't very many Fiat guys or cars around here.

I have a few Fiats and some spare parts. I hope you find a good car for your son. If you end up needing some help let me know.

Seems like it could be a fun project. Do we still have the requirement to include a price in all "for sale" listings? I understand the seller wasn't sure what to ask, but it is impossible for a potential buyer to gage interest without knowing the asking price. And I agree with the others, more pics will help a lot. Thanks. :)
