Can a hard top bolt onto a car set up for a convertible top? Onto A 1972 850 spider that is.

Does anyone know where to get bolts to attach the folding top to a 1971 850 spyder? My car came with a hard top, but I want to put the cloth top back on, but when I got the car, the bolts were missing. There are two bolts holes on each side. What top piece goes to what bolt hole?

Thanks,
Pat

There are two separate bolts: here's one for sale at Midwest Bayless: http://www.midwest-bayless.com/fiat...-frame-upper-bolt-fiat-850-spider-oe-nos.aspx

I could not find a picture of the second pivot bolt...but Midwest has a photo that is similar here: (Note the smooth part of shaft so that the frame can pivot around the bolt) http://www.midwest-bayless.com/p-14...elector-bolt-fiat-600-850-128-x19-oe-nos.aspx Call Matt, he may have a set. Note you need the plate for these two bolt sets, for each side.

Full assembly instructions can be found here: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0oAueodzm6-ekRiR2RuQVpWTHM/edit

I may have some on a parts car.
Probably be Sunday before I can get to it to check.

After looking at the pictures of the top, it looks like I am missing a few things. All I have are two vinyl covered side pieces. From here it looks like I am missing:
1. The four bolts to connect the top to the body
2. The left and right side protector pieces that the four bolts go through. I assume this is to project the vinyl covered side pieces from rubbing the top metal arms.
3. Both side strike plates where the top bonnet cover latches to the vinyl side pieces. These secure through the side vinyl pieces to keep the bonnet cover from springing open.

I can supply a picture if that helps.
Thanks,
Pat
