Old fogie stogie
After my 850 903 engine overheated for a couple of minutes (due to a freeze out plug popping out while driving because the PO never put antifreeze in the radiator, long story) I noticed it's idling a little rough now with a "valve tap" noise, which I didn't hear before. It's not misfiring, just not running smooth. I suspect the valves need adjustment now.
I have a shop manual (not a very good one), but does anyone have a simple procedure for valve adjustment or can point me to a video or page showing how it's done? Do you adjust with the engine cold? How do you get the engine to TDC?
