Anyone know of the Greece seller, advertising carbs on FB

True Classic
Anyone having experience of a guy called Dimitris Gkioulis, selling carb's on FB.
Reason I'm asking is that he wants payments through WU, I have no knowledge of how WU works, nor if they have any customer payment protection or similar.

He was on Xweb at one time. And he has (had?) listings on eBay. But I don't recall his usernames for either platform. Is "WU" for Western Union? That is a well established means of wiring funds.

Ok, so I gather there should be no risk to send him money, and get the carbs in returning post.

I would highly advise against using Western Union for online purchases. There is no purchase protection at all using this method. If the recipient collect the money but does't send anything, you're SOL as far as getting the item or your money back.

Yes I'm aware of this, thats why I'm a little bit reluctant, he is asking 750 Euros for a pair of 36 DNCF with manifold, serviced and ready for use.
Seems to be a fair price though.

Don't understand anything about carbs, but someone on his facebook posts commented that they actually are not ready to use on X1/9, You can share his pictures here on xweb to find out that.

Here are the images I got from him.

My experience with used carbs from Ebay in Greece (don't know if it's the same guy, but?) I found a set of dcnf's made for some other application. He stated ready to use, but I already knew that I was going to dissect, and check everything out...Had a mixture adjustment screw with a damaged needle tip, one butterfly had been replaced, and didn't fit, and the fuel enrichment area was all banged up inside, like someone tried to drill something out, and fkd it all up...Might have run on something else, but I spent a lot more in the long run in frustration..

I seem to recall there were two guys from Greece selling carbs on eBay at one time. One also had a bunch of NOS parts for various Euro cars. But maybe they were connected?

Pretty sure it was Ghenghis Khan, or wtf he goes by...I was trying to find my emails from Ebay, but couldn't. I actually used the carbs and they work, but I still have an occaisional idle change, like something is sticking or leaking rich. To be honest I was so excited to finally get dual carbs, and actually get them mostly adjusted without a wideband, I've just accepted it till I win the lotto, lol...They did work after I rebuilt them, and the stuff was mostly minor, but PIA factor was high, trying to find parts (the only butterfy I could find was MR Fiat, and it was expensive for a brass disc) Another issue was adjoining linkage for my manifold, and how it hooked up to the car... After my Hiatus I saw Midwest Matt had a complete package for the best price...really wish I had just waited for brand new
I did save money getting a separate manifold (another long wait due to international ordering) and carbs, modifying it etc, and I do like tinkering with stuff and learning, but the man hours I put in would have made the whole ordeal cost twice what I could have just paid, and bolted it on
