Anyone know the best way to clean a car cover?

The 500 Abarth's cover sure collected a lot of rain, dirt and dust this winter. So much so, that now it just leaves behind a healthy layer of dust and dirt on the car when applied.
Amazingly, there are no washing instructions on the cover. Lol.
Just throw in the laundry and let dry by air?
 
take it to the local laundromat on a Saturday night with a sixpack. Depending on the chemical waterproofing on your cover, you might want to wash it with no detergent. Probably a good idea to use only cold or warm water. The cover is way to big to get properly clean in a home washer (which are small). If yours is a fancy, expensive cover, you might want to use the gentle cycle.

I have the covercraft cover with the mirror pockets and as per their instructions I just threw it in my washing machine with powdered detergent. Came out great!
