Are 131 front brakes same as X1/9?

A 131 or 124 caliper will work on the opposite side ie a left on a 131 will be a right caliper for an X. The discs are identical. The mount is the element which will give you trouble.
 
The X and the 124 use the same rear calipers but with the left and right switched because the mounting positions are reversed as noted above. I found that you really had to read the detailed description from some suppliers to figure out what the part really was. The left/right description could not be trusted because some referenced the X mounting position and some referenced the 124 position. When I needed them, they were in very short supply so not many suppliers had both sides which made knowing which side I ordered important. Fortunately, I found that Auto Ricambi had both sides, new, in stock so I just ordered one of each and it was obvious which side they went on.
