Auxiliary shaft bearing replacement

No bearing is forever. I know the cars I have [all projects, most with a capital P] have clearly not been maintained. Oil changes? Filter changes? etc. So, my view is that returning all I can to as new is wise.
Correct no bearing last forever...

Alterative to ream to size once installed for the aux shaft bearings would be to make up a thick steel sleeve with identical ID to the aux shaft bores in the block and turned round on the OD, then press in the bearing to fit the specific bore, set the whole thing up in a lathe, indicate the set up to less than 0.001" runout, bore to clearance fit or the aux shaft, repeat for the other bearing. Remove the sized to fit bearing, install then to he block, measure with a bore gauge for proper bearing clearance to the aux shaft journals..
