My horns don't work on my '80 X. So i began to troubleshoot. The circuit to the relay is good, but no sound. I began to look for the horns thinking it was a bad ground. Only one problem, I can't find the *%$# horns!!! Could someone please tell me where they are located, or where they should be located. I have a sneaky suspicion they were removed, either that or I am blind...

Lastly... and don't tell anyone... a neat access trick into that area with the OTHER hand... is to pop up the headlights, remove the frame and loosed the three chrome ring retainer screws... twist the ring and remove the headlight bulb.
Now you can reach right through the headlight hole into the cavity to remove or mount all sorts of things... along wiht the access door under the lid.
Have fun... ya may wanna also install an AUX relay to get a better amount of voltage to the horns... like the headlight relay upgrades...

With the light out, I found it very easy to access the parts inside. Thanks for the info on horns. I think I am on to a original set (see FS&W). My goal is as many OEM parts as possible during this restore. I have the entire front end torn down. The steering arms and brake parts are being refinished @ my work as we speak (I love working for a company with a full machine shop and fab shop. Once I get her torn down, I will post pictures.
