Cutting springs

Thinking about cutting a coil or two off my 128's springs as a temporary solution while I build coilovers. Any recommendation regarding should I cut from the top or bottom of the spring?

Does not matter which end you cut, they are the same at both ends, but use the uncut end as the bottom. Cut no more than one full coil at a time and then maybe 1/2 coil at a time after the first big cut, it's hard to add coils back on if you go too far!

You should "pigtail" it if you cut coils...
