I suspect that supplies of targa top fronts and rear edges was the limiting factor in this project. A low volume casting run of these would still be pricey, plus hardware costs. Your local convertible top/auto upholsterer can probably duplicate one for the POE price. John still has some neat stuff at his shop. I said it then and I will say it again: If I were IN Australia, I would NOT hesitate to buy from John again. He was a hell of a nice guy to me throughout the entire drawn-out transaction, which is saying quite a bit because it was a complicated and frustrating situation for us both. The ONLY thing that now prevents me from making another large purchase from the Shop is the shipping nightmare that came to pass on how exactly to get the items to Seattle. That's all. Some folks seemed to have taken the ball and run with it when I told my story, and I think it got a little misconstrued. I sincerely hope John did not take offense at any of it, that was not my intent. In fact, if any of you could figure out a better way to ship, I would say go for it.
Definitely, if you're going all the way to Oz, you'd be nuts not to look these guys up. You should also track down "Car_Au" (aka Caroline, active on Mirafiori, owner of #1 of only 50 late Bertones imported to Oz), but that's another tale... -Mac.
