When I rolled up to FFO in my 124 Special last summer, TonyK was out in the parking lot. The first thing Tony says to me on seeing my "new" car is "It has an exhaust leak". Gee. Thanks Tony.
Well it took me a few months to find it. I put the car up on jacks a few times and looked for holes or loose pipes. I could never nail down where the noise was coming from. Recently I was trying to fix a leaky freeze plug and I think I got that, but I have been checking it after drives. Yesterday I stuck my hand down past the exhaust manifold to get my light closer. I felt a strong puffing on my arm. The down pipe wasn't completely tightened to the manifold. Duh. So it wasn't in the pipes after all. I tightened up the nuts and it definitely sounds better.
