Thinking about some rust repair on your car soon? Now is the time to get your needed sheet metal!

While pulling some Multipla parts out of the sheet metal warehouse this morning, I see I still have LOTS of new X1/9 sheet metal from when I bought out Socar.

(I think the first is 1300, but the difference is minor)

Note that some will have some slight surface oxidation that can easily be removed by sanding.

Got a rusty door?

Please note that all of these are LARGE when boxed, so they will be expensive to ship because of their dimensional weights... AND the web store might still think they will ship in a 5x5x5" box weighing less than one pound. We both know that is wrong, so there will be additional shipping charges if it's not updated.
I offer free deliver on paid orders to the All Italian Car show in Alameda California next month, or to the Best of France and Italy in the Los Angeles California area in November.
If you need it shipped, I can cut them with the sawzall to make them smaller...
If you call or email to place your order I will give you 10% off the web store prices until I leave for Los Angeles on November 2nd.

I also have remaining some rust repair panels that were made by a company that is now gone. Nice, and will work, but not as nice as factory!

And I guess I should add this disclaimer, since some of the stuff I listed is the last there is:
If you say you are interested, but don't follow thru... The simple rule is:
The first one with the money wins.

Curious, what's the difference between the 1500 and 1300 fenders and doors? I thought the bodies were the same throughout the years.

My guess is that 1300 fenders don't have extra holes for mounting the "elephant ears" bumper covers. As far as doors go, the 1300 series had lever openers on the inside, the 1500 had pull openers. I have never looked at the two opening mechanisms inside the door, but it seems they would be different due to the handle operation. I do believe the doors themselves are the same, so you could probably swap out the opening mechanism... maybe.

And was there some differences in the way the window system mounts in the late car doors (85-88)? I vaguely remember there is some work involved switching an old door from the cable set up (non-powered or powered) to the late power window set up with the central power lift mechanism.

JimD is correct on the fenders and doors.

On doors, the only differences on the exterior stamping is the additional holes for mounting the late body side trim.
The inside stamping is the difference. I have seen sections cut out and welded in to convert from early to late... And the location and design of the power windows was changed, hence different doors for late power window cars.

Let's put it this way, if you have the skills to change all or part of a fender, some extra little holes to add or delete should not be an issue.
If you are changing a door, the same statement applies.

Years ago I had a 1979 with a bad door, and a stack of good used 1300 doors. When I was done, the later door panel and controls fit and worked as designed, and no one was the wiser unless they pulled the door card and looked.
