About Concorso

FCA/NER started this event in 2001 with the vision of combining our members’ passion for the mystique of Ferraris with the enthusiasm of some very special children. The “Ferrari” marquee represents beautiful, fast and unique cars. Ask a child about Ferrari and an immediate smile spreads across his or her face. This is particularly true of those children whose hospital visits dominate their lives and who need the thrill of a ride in a Ferrari to let them feel like children again.

Each year a procession of 40 young patients are driven from Connecticut Children’s Medical Center through Hartford, and into a crowd of cheering onlookers at the State Capitol in Hartford. A local celebrity announces each child and his/her driver upon arrival. The children then meet up with their families and are provided with an exclusive luncheon and the opportunity to enjoy the festivities.

This year’s event supports Connecticut Children’s fund-raising efforts to develop a new cardiovascular operating suite, enabling the hospital to obtain the best possible images inside a child’s heart within an efficient and effective environment.

Please help us return smiles to the children’s faces by sponsoring this event.

Concorso 2009 Charities

This year’s proceeds will benefit Connecticut Children’s new cardiovascular operating suite, The Village, dedicated to reversing the increase in child abuse and violence affecting families, and Autism Speaks, promoting lifelong access and opportunity for all individuals within the autism spectrum.
