There's a voltage regulator from a '78 car on ebay and mine just went out, but it's a '75 and there are no voltage regulators in stock for my year. Is it possible to use a regulator from a newer car instead of my older one? The one on ebay has a black, grey and red wire but my current one only has white and red. Or should I just switch over to an internally regulated alternator at this point? Thanks!
