RED X19

Janis, the best I can offer is some links to old posts about rear brakes. See if any of these help:

The second one also has a link to a PDF file with a good instruction on rebuilding them.
There was also another good thread on Xweb that I have saved, but for some reason it won't come up. It was from the old "N54 Archives", which might have died? The title was "Brake Caliper 101". Maybe someone knows how to access that?

That PDF shows all in details :D

I don't remember for sure, but the missing thread (from the old Xweb) might have been the same as that PDF? I vaguely recall the PDF was a updated version with photos and better formatting (the old Xweb was limited that way). But I may be wrong about it. I'm sure there is a way to still access the old files. "N54 Archives", "Brake Caliper 101", @JimD can you assist - you are great at these sorts of things. ;)

Don’t know why I used fuel hose from clutch reservoir to master cylinder and EPDM for brakes.
BUT never ever try to do that.
Only EPDM for brake fluids.
Good that I checked level of fluids and started to look why fluid fir clutch is brown and smells like rubber.

Unfortunately that can mess up the whole system. Hopefully it wasn't in there long enough to be too bad; I know the car hasn't been driven so the clutch probibly wasn't operated much. But still make sure to clean everything out extremely well because if there is any residue left it will continue to contaminate things later. I'd even replace the seals in the master and slave while cleaning them, just for insurance.

FYI Punto ( GT1 in this case) manifold hits strut brace as mentioned previously.
And it hits also mount for dogbone on strut brace. Small cuts are needed.

List till MOT, at least what I am known of :D
•rear brake caliper seals
•gearbox seal
•rear bonnet
•AKB holding plate
•Gap between driver’s door glass and weatherstrip
•epdm hose for clutch
•one wiper arm missing

Maybe next week :)

I like that small air filter. IIRC it is made of polyester.

calculation says that it weighs ~4kg
feels like 1kg :D

Don’t think that in the end it will be more than 6kg

on the sides of bonnet wil make scoops to make it look also less trash :D

on the left side for intake and on the right sidw for ventilating engine bay
