hard starting at low temps

Some helpfull things follow,any contributions are wellcome. Switched from high octane to regular, helped a lot, evidently more volitle(sp?)lights off easier cold.Trickle charger on battery,lots more umpf. Allready using 10w30 Syntec.Flushed throttle cable w WD/40, installed boot from mountain bike "V brake" on engine end of cable to exclude water(maybe water in cable froze,not lube thickened)Any other ideas?<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

Try to see if there is a difference between w/ and w/o it plugged in. Also check the aux. air device which when so cold should be open quite a bit.
