I just finished buttoning up my engine after porting the head and replcing the gasket. I went to fill the engine with antifreeze and there is a BAD leak under the car. I started to pour anitfreeze into the small heater hose that runs from the head, through the engine compartment firewall and into the interior? Antifreeze is leaking from a hole in the floor pan under the passenger's seat. What is going on?
Does this hose run under the carpet, under the floor boards or what?<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

All I know is that it's not the easiest spot to reach. I do know, however, that if the heater core or (maybe more likely?) the heater control valve leaks, that coolant goes right into the floorboards. Might look up there too (even if it is just denial about having to go into the center hump!) -Mac.

If you want to drive the car until you get a chance to repair it, just disconnect the hose coming from the pipe off the water pump from under the car and re direct it into the inlet located above the alternator. You'll see it.

The hose you're after runs from the engine bay, through the firewall and into the spare tire compartment (briefly) and from there it enters the hump that is between the seats running to the front of the cockpit. The hump inside and the coolant pipe box beneath the car are totally separate. What you need is to get into the inside hump. The easiest way to begin that I can think of would be to remove the emergency brake lever. It can be a pain to reinstall if you forget to slack the e-brake cable some before trying! -Mac.
