I've got a/c on my '85 X and it idles right around 1200 with the compressor on and about 1500 with it turned off. Is there supposed to be some kind of idle increase mechanism for when the compressor is energized? And it seems that 1500 is pretty fast, but I'm not entirely sure just how to adjust the idle. There is the "big" screw on the top of the fuel injection plenum, and also, the throttle lever stop screw where the linkage hooks up to the throttle butterfly valve. My manuals aren't entirely clear on it. anyone have any input into it?

1) Loose the 17mm lock nut at the top of the plenum and screw the bolt all the way in (clockwise).
2) Adjust the idle at 750-850 rpm’s (100 rpm’s below the 900-800 specified by the factory), using the small screw (with the 6mm lock nut) located on the accelerator linkage.
3) Adjust the throttle switch plate (close throttle position) by loosing the two screws that hold the throttle switch plate (on the side of the plenum) and disconnect the Bosch connector.
Then using an ohm meter between the center connector and the right one (towards the front of the car)rotate the throttle switch plate just until you have a closed circuit (continuity), then tighten the two screws again and re-check the closed circuit, then connect again the Bosch connector.
4) Lastly, adjust the final idle using the screw on top the plenum to 850-950 rpm and tighten the 17mm lock nut and that’s all.
I just did mine last Sunday and it doesn't take too long, good luck.
