Im back with the 128 with race engine

Daily Driver
Hello guys hope you remember me😁
(Otherwise check out some of my other threads so see the engine etc im working on/with)

I have once again started on the fiat 128 again (as the motivatie to finish it comes and goes)

I have a important question about the oilpump

I have this cleaned oil pump and old one i took out of my original engine
But if i look in the books it looks like im missing something that goes inside the spring or something?
Or what is the springs job otherwise since it is just crammed between the plate and oil pick-up housing with a hole going thru it

Hope someone can help me since im lost in this and if i solve this it can finnaly go back togheter and run and drive

The spring is part of a pressure relief valve that prevents excessive oil pressure, and it looks like you are missing the piece that actually closes against the hole in the plate that you show.

Do you happen to have any picture of that ? Because i was thinking something along those lines indeed
Or do you happen to know where i could get it

Are both pumps missing the relief valve plunger? If the other pump still has it then you can swap the piece over to the pump you want to use. Without it you will not get much oil flow through the engine. However I agree with Carl's point about not knowing what that pump has been through....why was the valve missing and what else has been buggered up?

I have found the missing piece from another pump i have gotten so i have measured everything on this oil pump and the other ones and this one is perfectly in spec within original measurments so i am now putting the plunger in this one and am putting the engine togheter now and hopefully putting it in the car this midday
Thanks guys

I have put the piece in and it has around 2 bar oil presure at idle and goes to 3.5 with gas
The car reacts really fast on throttle and for the 50% throttle that i have gave it its really fast already
Does anyone know how i can post some video's on here?
Very happy with it
And now gonna have to re register it here and rhen i can finnally start driving it

Upload to YouTube and sharing the link here is the best way.
I will try and see if i can make a vid about the car for you guys first want to have it legal on the road here and lower it good in the rear aswell

Gonna have to wait a long time for the dutch dmv to be able to inspect the car sadly
