Its going on but with little clearance to starter motor and other bits. That area of firewall seems like a 'dogs breakfast' for hoses and wires.

Agree, the hoses on my 5-speed X's are a tight fit also. It is a cramped area between the engine, all of its accessories mounted on that side, and the firewall.
