knock sensor

Any know of a place to mount a knock sensor? Preferably high up on the block, near the middle of the engine.

I've never had the engine out (or seen one out) so I'm not exactly sure what (if any) tapped (or untapped) bosses might be there.

You don't want it high on the block. Valve train noise can be picked up by the knock sensor. Most OE applications mount the sensor lower on the block to prevent this.

I was thinking the EGR port (assuming you are not using the EGR any more) would make a nice location but any cast mounting bung will do.
