My dash lights now work, except for the light switch and cigarette lighter. The switch and lighter work, they just don't light up. They have a fiberoptic strand going to them, but where is the source? The source for the center console lights works. Are there 2 sources, or did these strands come undone from the source under the center console?

Also the wiring diagram mentions a switch for the electric antenna. Am I correct in thinking this is the one marked with a foglight symbol? I thought that would be there to power rear foglights on European cars, as I can trace the blue wires from the switch to the right rear.

I was able to use one of the former A/C relays to power the low beams. I had to cut and splice the grey/red lowbeam wire, but after that it was straight forward. Why they only put in relays for high beams, I don't know. And why a sealed black box for the fuse/relay connections? I have a hard time trusting the diagram that lists "speekers", "cloch" and uses 3 different names for courtesy light on one page.

Thanks -- Erwin

The power antenna should be run off your radio. Unless yours doesn't have one, there should be a wire exclusivly for that purpose.
The lighter uses a lightbulb and does not run off the fibre optic.

[FONT=Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Tahoma, Arial]<!-- google_ad_section_start -->The cluster of eight switches in the centre console, some which are blanks, all use seperate bulbs, remove the black plastic switch caps with a small flat screwdriver, and you will see at the top of the switch a circular white piece of plastic, lift this up with your finger nails, and it will be revealed as a minature bulb holder.

The fibre-optics bulb is below the main console. You will have to remove the screws fixing it and lift it up to see the bulb.

The blue wires that go to the console are for an optional elecrtic aerial switch, which is fitted next to the above mentioned switches. The other end of the wires go to the aerial location point. It is probably easier to run a new wire between radio and aerial as most stereos have a aerial control output nowadays and dont need a seperate switch.<!-- google_ad_section_end -->
