MOST beautiful X1/9

My inspiration. At least for the color choice. I wanted something different, but still Fiat.

Not my car anymore (anyone here own it?) but the 1977 K20 X was probably the best looking out of the 6 I have owned. It was inspired by Ulix's car. I am "making do" with a Fiat 850 Spider and a 2018 500 X now , yes both also yellow. The X, 500X are my cars, the 850 a Google image because I didn't have one on my PC of the 850 :(

Yeppers, that's when Matt owned it after me. Thanks for posting. Think Matt sold it, not sure where it is now, but I bet its loved :)

A friend of mine sent me these photos of my '74. This car was originally built as a dedicated DSP autocross car. It was my first ever full build. I bought the car as a basket case that had been sitting in a garage for several years without a driveline. Its only virtue was it was fairly straight and rust free. I stripped the chassis to a bare tub, had it painted and built it up from there. I still think the '74 made the coolest looking racecar. :)

These photos were taken at the Nashville Pro Solo (at Opryland) in probably 1993. This car taught me how much I didn't know about racecars. ;)

That's Jim Susko's 1980 1500 beside me on grid.

Nice craftmanship, especially on the front hood. I also remember, you have the aluminium engine cover. Did you fit a rearview mirror in you right quarter window?

Thanks. Yes old school racing mirror is bolted to perspex/acrylic quarter window rather than aluminium door skin.

One of my favorites. The mods are purposeful, have value and it is all well executed. This is on my list of most beautiful X’s. Beauty is a composite of many things.

Note some of the subtle things he has changed in the time since this photo was taken: the little front spoiler on the radiator hood openings (to create a low pressure area over the openings), rear spoiler and rubber edge on the front spoiler. I appreciate the ongoing development.

It is also a damn cool looking car.
