Everybody tells me I cannot buy generic because...well, there are no generic cables, all are car specific. Where can I find those wires and how much should I expect to pay? Are there any substitutes? Master clutch cylinder, I need to rebuild it, any tips? (I haven't been able to find the book either.)

    International Autoparts, Obert and Co., Vicks Autosports, and Bayless are probably the best places to start, and I think all are online.

    The wires - well, if you can cut your own, there really isn't anything all that special about them - they tend to be cut to length for a particular car.

    you can just measure the length of the wires you need, the one to the coil might be the only critical one. Then go to an auto parts place and look through some boxes until you find something close.

    OTOH, I agree that you should order some parts catalogs from teh Fiat vendors, or use their online catalogs. There you can order your plug wires, a Haynes manual, and a new master cylinder. Since teh m/c is no fun to change, I would install a new brake m/c and probably a new clutch m/c.

My theory is that if I cut my wires to the same length of the ones I have, and buy wires of the same thickness as those I have, I should be OK. Any comments on that? Also, I was able to order rebuild kits for the master/slave cylinders. Should I bought instead new units?<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

    Your cylinders may be perfectly fine with a kit. the problem is you won't know until you have them apart. I rebuilt my slave, but when I had it apart and saw the corrosion on the 25-year old part, I wished I had ordered a new one instead of a kit.
    I put the kit in and it still works fine though.

Many newer cars can handle resistance up to 10,000 ohms, whereas the X's range is between 450 and 750 ohms. Too much resistance can cause a weak or no spark condition.

Great quality, perfect fit, and cool red color. I wouldn't mess with rebuilding master cylinders either.
