It had been sitting in previous owners driver way for 5 years. He said he cleaned out the carb. The body is completely straight and it ran good, needed some carburation tuning and a general once over but still ran pretty strong. Yesterday I took it to the local auto parts store to pick up some spark plugs, oil, oil filter, air fitler (couldn't find one), etc. Well on the way home, it just sputtered out like it had run out of gas, (my gas gauge doesn't work) I thought I had some gas so I tried to start it up a couple times, as I was in
traffic, and then I lost ALL power! I thought I ran the battery dead trying to start it, so I pushed it to a parking lot and then walked home and got my wife to bring me back with some gas and some jumper cables. We put gas in it, and tried to jump it, but still NO power to ANYTHING, not even the radio, dash, or horn. So we return to my house and get my truck and a tow chain, and tow it back home. Anyway needless to say, I still haven't figured it out. The battery is good, new this year, with full charge. I don't have the owners manual or repair manual for it yet, so I do not know if it is possible that a fuse has blown, but it seems like I would still have power to something! Please help with any suggestions you may have. Thank You!

It's low in body, about level with botom of undercarriage and bolts are prone to loosen up. The plate the strap goes to should be unpainted just like the one near battery. It's a woven copper strap and if loose will cause problems. My X uses the body as the ground other than short black wire going to firewall in front compartment, another source of electrical problems if loose. Some of the parts places like International Auto Parts carry wiring diagrams in book form. Is other wiring cobbled up or look like it has not been messed with. I am sure others will have some more ideas that relate to your year.<!-- google_ad_section_end -->
