The mods have put our heads together and come up the following guidelines for the FS&W Forum. Please take the time to read, and thanks for your cooperation in advance. We don't want to do a lot of "policing" but rather we hope this clearly explains our simple "house rules".

Thanks!

Xweb assumes no responsibility for transactions conducted in relation to posts on the FS&W forum. Users assume all responsibility for any transaction they undertake, and will use caution when dealing with unfamiliar users.

Items for sale or wanted should be posted in the FS&W forum. Cross-posting to other Xweb forums is unwelcome, and cross-posts may be moved or deleted by Xweb volunteer forum moderators. If you post in the incorrect forum in error, please request that your post be moved by a moderator in a report of your post.

Private parties and businesses alike may post items for sale or wanted at will, and businesses should identify themselves as such in their posts.

Users acknowledge that this is a discussion forum and not a classified ad listing, and all FS&W posts are open to civil discussion. This does NOT mean it's acceptable to criticize a for sale post beyond statements of fact. Personal attacks are not tolerated.

When posting items for sale, you must include the following information; description, model year application, price (be specific, price each item, price "Or Best Offer" permitted), location, contact info. Images are helpful. Be sure to include contact info if you want to be contacted via email rather than on the forum. Pointers to eBay auctions should include "eBay" in the post title or text.

Everyone should lump "for sale" and "wanted" items together when convenient, i.e. don't create separate posts for 20 things for sale, rather make a list in a single post. Please update your list as items sell in a reply or by editing the original post.

Highjacking: If you have something for sale that is similar to something offered in a "for sale" post by another user, please create a new post for your offer.

If you have something that another user is looking for, you should offer it in a response in that user's post, or a new post.

Spam posts

Occasionally you will see a post in FSW (and rarely in other sections) that appears to be spam. Telling features are generic or nonsensical text, if any, and links in the signature.

If you see such a post, please use the report button in the upper right hand corner of the post (looks like a warning triangle). This will send an email to the mods, and when we see the email we'll take care of it.

Because FSW allows guest posting, it's easier to post spam without consequence. On other pages, registration is required and a spammer will be banned.

Please don't click on the links in the signature! If you have any doubt about a post, just report it and we'll investigate. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks,
The Moderator team.

About ad posting etiquette...

If you post an X or other Fiat, or parts for them for sale here, you do so at the forum admins' discretion.

This is a forum, not a classified ad listing. A forum means there may, but may not, be response or discussion. Please don't post an ad and then complain about the response or lack thereof.

Insulting the very means you're using to advertise your car or parts will result in your ad being removed, and possible banning from the forum.

If you see an ad that elicits a potentially abrasive response from you, wait a while before posting, you may rethink how you feel about the ad later. And consider how a response like you plan would make you feel. If you post an ad that elicits abrasive responses from the forum, consider rewriting the ad to include only the basic info.
