Oil pan

Hi All,
Unfortunately I have to redo the oil pan gasket on my new 1500 rebuild with engine in the car. It's leaking from one of the front corners. I used the thin fiber gasket that came with the gasket set with no sealer of any kind. I did check the pan for straightness and it's fine. I now have the thicker composite type from MWB and a tube of blue Hylomar. I've read many different opinions about sealer or no sealer, factory torque setting or not, retorque after some running time, locktite or not. I don't want to do this again so I'm hoping for some opinions from all of you. Thanks in advance,

Bob

I used the thin gasket from MWB and blue Hylomar about 15 months ago with no Loctite. So far no leaks but only a few hours run time.

The thick oil pan gaskets are normally for the steel oil pans used on the 128, Strada & Yugo. The X1/9 alloy oil pan normally uses a thin paper gasket (with or without Hylomar, your choice).
