The response was so great that I more than doubled my original run and am sold out of those. It looks as though there is enough ongoing market for them that Chris Obert of C. Obert & Co. is putting together a run of the pivots and is going to market them. You can contact him at 831 423 0218 and talk about buying a set out of the first run. He will be commissioning the work very soon. He will also be selling blank aluminum discs to replace the phenolic pivots on the rear of '74-'78 X1/9's.
It was a really fun project for me, but an awful lot of work, too. I had this idea a long time ago, and basically did it for myself. By getting a bunch of people together, I was able to get the prices down to a level that is affordable. I am an R&D engineer, so I enjoy the design, testing and organization part of projects, but not the manufacturing production end.
Give Chris a call to get your pivots in the future. He plans to stock them.

StevenL saw a great improvement, since his stock pivots hadn't been greased since who knows when. I wasn't expecting much improvement on my car, which had freshly greased pivots. Suprise! Mark's pivots still yielded a nice reduction in steering effort, and smoothed out the "feel". Best $30 I ever spent, so I bought two more sets for my other X and 128 projects.
