POLYTRON

Herzel Frenkel
A friend of mine' over here in Israel, is interested in getting involved in marketing a product called POLYTRON. It is a sort of a "miracle" oil additive I've never heard of.
Are any of you wizards know of it?

And many thanks to Tony, Papa, for his close support in guiding me through this V3 Xweb.
I'll have to reload me sig, but that's later.

Hi Hertzl,
Just about all oil starts with something that comes out of the ground and additives are added to it to make it into ATF, motor oil, power steering fluid, etc. The additive pack can consists of many different classes, antioxidents, extreme pressure additives, anti-foaming agents, viscosity modifiers, etc.etc.etc. Many times, the additives are slaughter-house derived so the idea of adding "snake oil" to oil to make it do something is not far from reality. Now, what do these Polytron guys bring that Lubrizol and Afton Chemical can't? Almost certainly nothing (could be just more of viscosity modifier) but if they are good at marketing, people will buy anything.
For your research...

http://www.aftonchemical.com/ (Formerly Ethyl Corp....yes, "fill it up with Ethyl", Ethyl)

Best of luck!

Thanks JimD,
I shied this V3 for a long while. Now I'll probably sign in more often.

Herzel,

V3 is pretty nice, but definitely different. I have the "New posts" page bookmarked in my browser and use that as my entry point to V3. So when I stop by I immediately see what's new in all forums. If the page comes up empty, that means the members have been slacking off and not posting anything. :) So try bookmarking New Posts and see how that works for you and an entry point.
