Radiator & AC Fan one one relay?

Worked on my rats nest of a wiring harness today. PO cut "un-needed" wires as the wires entered and left the cabin. I unraveled the harness tape and removed the cut wires.

Now I want to move the relays to the front trunk where the battery is located, as for originality the wires are cut anyway so it does not matter.

The PO removed the AC and put put both fans on one relay. Do you think I can run the two coolant fans on one relay? One of the fans is/was A/C only and only ran when the AC was engaged using its own relay.
Thanks!

I said the same thing over on mirafiori.com but both my fans run at the same time, as far as I know they're on a single relay but the diagrams say otherwise. Each fan relay has a 25A fuse, but maybe that's for both.

I will be able to verify later today.

Helpful I know.

You could as long as the wires, relay and fuse are rated for it.

Personally I would try and use two different relays and use a different sensor system that will kick the second fan on at a higher temp. There are a variety of aftermarket controllers out there. A little pricey but in my view they could be worth it.

I especially like the Dakotadigital one which has been highly rated.
