Seems I lost them all on the side of the road. A 3 hour AAA wait and the car is home, but I have no idea what the length of the bolts are. They look like M6 bolts.

anybody know the length?

TIA

they have been talked about a lot. VW axle bolts were spoken of as a good replacement. Just a touch longer but no problems reported with the extra length)

This is a constant on-going topic on Xweb.

The socket head cap screws are M8 x 1.25, 45mm long, grade 12.9. Available at the local industrial hardware supplier.
Use a high quality 6mm hex bit socket, torque to 25-30 ft/lb_check Fiat service manual on this.

These screws are not expensive. if one came loose, the rest are sure to follow. Replace them ALL, torque as specified in Fiat service manual.

As this is a front engine - rear drive section... I'm guessing this isn't for an X19, and perhaps for a 124?

Bolts are unusual and specific for this application, the heads are not a hex (in or out) and the bolts are 10.9 grade... they would be an M8 x 1.25 and the nuts are nylocs . The shoulder /shank length is quite specific, as there are no threads exposed to the inner hole of the two flanges (pinion and tailshaft)

I'll see if I can find you a pic / OE Fiat part number, but not at home right now with my workshop manuals.

edit ... http://www.spiderroadster.com/124driveshaft1.htm you need parts 3 & 4 (the description calls 3 a 'lockwasher' but it's a locking nut (nyloc)

Hi, and thanks all. And yes, this is for the wife's 124 Spider.

She left me stranded by the road side. The Spider, not the wife...
