RED X19

I'm certainly not a alignment specialist, but I think if the front has positive camber and the rear has negative camber, that may cause a lot of what you described. The mounting holes on the bottom of the struts can be elongated (slotted), to allow the camber to be adjusted.

Got a ticket today because car is grey but red in papers. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Previously was told that it doesn’t matter.
No problem on the way home stopped at Home Depot bought cheapest can of red and a roller 😂 and behind the parking lot did the paintjob 😅

Was that for real, the ticket for wrong color? Boy, I'll never worry about driving around with no headlights, no turn signals and only one wiper again.

I would have loved to see a car being painted behind the hardware store like that! :D

Sucks about the ticket though. So no car can change color in its lifetime?

Now go find the same policeman and ask him if he made a mistake. :p

Can be changed.
Previously You had to change car’s passport where color is mentioned.
Now theyYou can ask to not mention color.
My had in the passport mentioned red.

But I passed MOT with grey what is wierd and got tickets now

I once had a police pull me over for speeding. He questioned me about the car being stolen because when he looked at the car's papers it did not say "AMG" like the badges on the car, it just said "Mercedes Benz". Took quite a while to explain to him that AMG was a special edition of a MB. There aren't a lot of qualifications required to become a police officer.

As a youth in 70's England, I was pulled over for speeding in my Fiat "Nuova Cinquecento" - the officer was mostly astounded at the speed he registered me at, however he said the main reason he pulled me over was that running the plate, the car was supposed to be red - I had painted it (British Racing) Green - so he thought it may have be stolen :D

That would be absolutely illegal here. Same like driving without plate or worse. Our plates are reflective white. Only black(symbols) part can and must be repaired if faded out.
I guess something up to 2500€ :D

I think a little miscommunication. He painted the car green, not the plate, so same situation as you had.

But what you said is interesting because here a plate is definitely required. However if you get pulled over and do not have one, in most cases they only require that you get it replaced with little or no fine. So it isn't as big of a deal as there. But things like this vary a lot from one state to the next. Where I am living now I see LOTS of cars driving around with no license plate, and they never get stopped.

Virginia requires both front and rear plates and you WILL get pulled over for not having a front plate mounted. Between California's emissions checks, Germany's TUV requirements for non stock items and your country's obsession with car color, I'm beginning to think Virginia is a great place to be a car guy.

I'll just put this right here.

Not a chance. haha. You forgot your silly inspection stickers in the MIDDLE of the damn windshield. Haha. Sheesh. Give me emissions any day on that one.

Actually, I notice they have now moved them over to the left corner of the windshield. If you slap on antique plates there is no inspection, no sticker and the DMV never wants to talk to you again. Of course the summers are terribly hot and terribly humid and the winters are cold and damp. That's why a disturbing number of DCfiats club members show up for drives in their new 500s and spiders.

Here in Sweden you can repaint your car in any color, except crazy full chrome or gold wraps. However, the registration plate is very strict. There are two types available; normal and US sizes. When I bought my Exxie it had worn early normal sized plates at front and rear, so I applied for new smaller US-plates. The Swedish authorities are very restrictive about US-plates so I had to send them pictures to proof that normal plates wouldn't fit. This what I sent them:

They didn't approve. Two weeks later I tried to apply again and succeeded, probably because of a more understanding agent this time. However, only the rear plate was approved for the smaller US sized plate. -At the front I must keep the big ugly airflow blocking plate. I called the agent, but she didn't buy my arguments for having the small plate also at the front but told me "You will probably find a way around it". Then I asked her if it is possible to order two rear plates. -There you see, she said. 😀

Yeah, the car, not the plates. In the UK, at least when I lived there, the (plastic) plates are made at small shops, you can get a few styles, but the dimensions are fixed. The plates stay with the car when/if transfer of ownership occurs. This is a still life I made from the rear plate & emblems after I scrapped that particular 500, and from my wrecked 850....

Yes, not "US sized". Remember the Italian plates common when these cars were designed... and most countries had plates sized like this for various cars. Just some examples.

Absolutely same here except ordering two small plates. But we have 3 sizes for the rear. My X only has still old plated with Latvian not EU flag, so if I would attend for shorter plate for the rear would loose Latvian flags. But that plate in the rear is ~8mm too long and had broken rear lamps because of that 😬
