Replacement Steering Wheel, Shifter

I am currently using a Miata shift knob on my X. It threads on...maybe not as perfectly as one would want, and I have no clue if it has damaged the threads, but regardless, my friend and I swapped knobs (NB Miata). Mine threaded on his car just the same. It's nice and tight, but the last couple turns were a bit questionable.

The only downside is it's a heavy knob (he prefers light for his track cars). Usually I like that, but in the case of my X, the shifter is so floppy that it flops around during hard cornering and tends to wobble on its own due to the mass of the knob.
