Secondary water pump to cure idle heat up

My misunderstanding, I thought you were still experiencing the temp spikes at stops. I always said having a ventilation fan is the answer. :D

But seriously, glad it is working and sorry for the confusion. Too many discussions for my failing mind to keep up with. ;)
 
We must be referring to different models then. It would be interesting to see a schematic for the one you reference, to see how they engineered it for two pumps. Thanks for pointing it out, might offer a method that could be duplicated.
I cannot find a picture but look at the 91 Audi 200 Turbo wagon with the 3b engine.
 
The VW VR6 uses a supplementary pump to increase flow at idle and after shutdown. Basically the same things we want but it was clearly designed into the system.
 
This is where my temp sits in normal highway driving. Doesn't go up from there unless I drive it hard. Need to check the full load enrichment, and possibly pull some timing over 3500
