Seeking advice on sticking clutch pedal.

It occurred to me that way back when I set up the clutch hydraulics I did not set the free play other than to insure the throwout bearing was disengaged when the pedal was up. I forgot about this since the clutch felt nominally OK plus not driving it in 24 years left rather vague memories of what it was supposed to feel like. Today, I set the free play and that made a huge difference in pedal operation. Now, the hydraulics seem to be pushing the pedal back up past the point it was sticking. The pedal feel is way better now, as is the shifting.
