Interesting build. Some comments that it is a "Romeo Ferrari head" or a head from a V8 that's been mated to the SOHC block. Never heard that this is possible before, but it performs and sounds wonderful.
I think years ago Romeo Ferraris used to race 128s and X1/9s. I'm sure I've seen a 16v head for the SOHC engine made by them.
Anyway they are still in business ..
For 60 years engines have been our passion. Development, innovations, podiums and victories are something that here at Romeo Ferraris we are very proud of.
Yes, Romeo Ferraris built race engines for sports racers based on the 128 block. There are 2 or 3 pages about this in the Faza book.
He also developed racing V8s for boats.
No, the largest displacement was 1.6L.
But there was a long stroke 1.6 and a short stroke 1.6.
If you combine those you can get 1.85-1.9 L.
With some more extreme combinations you can get to 2L.
As I recall this topic was discussed, years ago. It might be in the archives or N54 archives. As I remember the idea of using a 308 head on an X block, was discussed, but something about oil or coolant passages not lining up, or some other detail.
