I don't think anyone already knows them. I have terrorized various spax dealer including spax germany themselfes during the last years and they always told me, that they do not have spax dampers for the X because the diameter required for the X is too small for the spax design.

I have just called the distributor for spax in Germany and got very confusing details. At first I have to tell you that I have called them several years (maybe 2) earlier and asked for them. At that time at the first call they have been very friendly and said they had to negotiate with spax uk. The next call a few days later I got a very disappointing answer by someone who didn't seem to be very excited about me asking for the dampers. He told me that there were no spax available due to fiat stock housing being to small for the design of the spax dampers. That's all, phone call end.
Today I called them again and they were very surprised me telling them about those NEW struts. They said that these struts are inserts which are being produced for a long time, nothing special. After telling them about me being very surprised because they told me something different a few years ago they said they did not know anything about what I am talking. OK, forget the past I just want the inserts. I asked for availability and they do not have them on stock (no surprise) but could order them. Price for a single unit is DM 330,- (about US-$ 140-150). Konis have been sold for about DM 250 (Us-$ 100-110) for the last available units.
I have also contacted spax uk and am looking really forward to that answer. Unfortunatelly the british pound is currently very expensive due to the low euro.

We (North Americans) had the 1500 cc in 1978, but as a 1979 models. Since many markets aren't following the same year/model system, but rather use the year when the car was sold to determine which year it is.
I haven't found the time to check in my library, but I think I remember they had the 1500 cc in 1978 models in UK. Can't remember if they had it in the small bumpers/old style interior or only in the US specs bumpers and newer interior.

He told me that there were no spax available due to fiat stock housing being to small for the design of the spax dampers. That's all, phone call end.
Today I called them again and they were very surprised me telling them about those NEW struts. They said that these struts are inserts which are being produced for a long time, nothing special. After telling them about me being very surprised because they told me something different a few years ago they said they did not know anything about what I am talking. OK, forget the past I just want the inserts. I asked for availability and they do not have them on stock (no surprise) but could order them. Price for a single unit is DM 330,- (about US-$ 140-150). Konis have been sold for about DM 250 (Us-$ 100-110) for the last available units.
I have also contacted spax uk and am looking really forward to that answer. Unfortunatelly the british pound is currently very expensive due to the low euro.

The only hint I've ever seen is a friend's '78 with 1300/4spd, but with the notched leftrear frame rail to provide 5spd clearance. My '78 doesn't have the notch.

We (North Americans) had the 1500 cc in 1978, but as a 1979 models. Since many markets aren't following the same year/model system, but rather use the year when the car was sold to determine which year it is.
I haven't found the time to check in my library, but I think I remember they had the 1500 cc in 1978 models in UK. Can't remember if they had it in the small bumpers/old style interior or only in the US specs bumpers and newer interior.
