I think it's about twenty years old). Plan on bolting it on my '76 in the next few days so I'll let you know if there's much to be gained from it. It bolts up to the standard catylitic converter and has dual tips. Hopefully I'll see a (maybe?) five hp increase and a little more beasty tone. I'd really like a little burble on deceleration.... I'll keep you guys posted!<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

[FONT=Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Tahoma, Arial]<!-- google_ad_section_start -->I've got a Supersprint muffler on my 128 Rally. It's basically two glasspacks welded side by side with two chrome tips. It replaced the rear muffler, but I didn't notice any real difference over the stock system until I got rid of the front muffler. My Rally doesn't have a cat either. Now, with a header and straight pipe back to the Supersprint, it had quite a nice tone. The car is easily heard at the opposite end of the autocross course (I have a co-driver). I'm not convicned it gives much of a hp boost because it is made to mate to the stock exhaust system and is therefore of the same diameter pipe. And from my experience with Fiat cats, you'll have to ditch the cat or go with a free flow aftermarket cat before you'll get any real performance gains (or volume gains).<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

[FONT=Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Tahoma, Arial]<!-- google_ad_section_start -->I'm thinking about putting a straight pipe in place of the cat as soon as I pass smog this coming week. The only thing is that I don't want it to be so loud that it's unbearable. A little louder with a bit better tone would be desireable. Do you remember if the tone was changed at all just by bolting the supersprint on? (I still haven't installed mine...)<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

[FONT=Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Tahoma, Arial]<!-- google_ad_section_start -->I dont know of a source of "test pipes" for the X,(a length of tube to replace the cat).Any muffler shop can make one up, Most wont for legal reasons.Consider having a muffler or hot rod shop install a modern hi flo cat, they cause very little back pressure. [FONT=Trebuchet MS, Verdana, Tahoma, Arial]<!-- google_ad_section_start -->Everything inside the cat is just kind of a chalky honeycomb substance. A pipe (or rebar) repeatedly rammed into it breaks it up, and then it can be poured out into the garbage can. This will also produce a resonance chamber in your exhaust that'll lower the tone a bit, although likely make the car louder. I highly recommend a new cat for moral/environmental reasons, but that would likely do the trick.<!-- google_ad_section_end -->
