The lead engineer of the legendary 917, the lead engineer of Audi's Quattro AWD system, and the man who saved VW, has passed.

He was 82.

the 917 is my second favorite porsche (second to the 718 RSK). always thought about building the Laser 917 kit car. Great design. sad to see another innovator go, but looks like he had a full life!
