Time to replace the head gasket?

Probably...

I think that a headgasket is probably going to last the life of an engine (until rebuilding say) if the engine is kept in top form. Meaning, run regularly and to full temperature, and fluids kept fresh.

Unfortunately I know that the engine in my Scorpion was a used engine sourced for a reasonable price, and installed with some care, but not as much as I would take. There's evidence that the car was not taken care of as much as I would, so the corrosion and probable overheating etc. before I got the car.

So in this situation it was probably inevitable that I would need to change it at some point.

My coolant level is maybe a 1/2" below the neck for the cap. After >1k miles...
