Scorpiacarlo's "inner self"...

I had to look a second time, I know you are an advocate for those Saab 2.3’s!
Could be in the future... There are only two versions of the Saab-Scania turbo motor worth considering, B204 & B234.. with Tronic 5 or 7 engine management.. If you're curious about this..

~Easy fit (power train mounts made as needed), with a F25 (5 speed) to F40 (6 speed) transaxle.

There are very real reasons why the B204 & B234 have become motor swap favorites in recent times..

And yes, the Lampredi TC can achieve much the same, problem is engine management, parts needed and many of the really good Lampredi TC bits are not easy to obtain in the states or cost more for a given power level.

Cleaned out the Lampredi TC crank..

Modified the 2.0l Lampredi block to fit the Scorpiacarlo oil dip stick fitting.

Added dowel pin holes on the Lampredi TC flywheel(s).. disaster preventive measure that is worth the effort.

Curiosity look on the web notes plenty of flywheels that have sheared off their threaded bits into the crank..
often with vast surprise & wrecked bits.

Gotta wonder what Lampredi was thinking when the crank drawing had dowel pin holes along with the internally threaded holes.

M12 cylinder head studs installed with test build disposal head gasket..
ARP M12 head studs test fit.JPG

The ARP M12 studs were intended for FORD Sierra/Escort cosworth..
Not a direct fit, the block cylinder head internally threaded holes needs to be
Re-did to M12x1.75 by 24mm deep and this imposes a head gasket issue & drilling
out the cylinder head holes to clear M12.

Often done on really high power Lampredi TC motors that have pressurized intake.

Next up, test build..

Uncovered the X from its slumber. It will be my daily driver for the next few weeks as I wait for new rims and tires for the truck to be delivered.
