What did you do to your X1/9 today ?

What about this step bit? I can remove the metal plate and keep it original, but would these bits tear up the console plastic, or make a nice, expanded hole?
They can work well but the hole size can sometimes be hard to control. A hole saw will make a hole of the stated diameter.

Bought a 2-3,5 psi fuel pump online. Going to see if it fixes the fuel overrun problem. My current pump is 3,5-7 psi and I think it is forcing fuel past the floats.

I used a dremel sanding drum to slowly open the hole enough for the USB socket to fit. I only sanded the bottom as not to have it any closer to the ashtray. Worked awesome.

I was getting you a little less. That's explain why your car progress are so slow... 🤪
This time of year if fluctuates a lot from day to day, for a couple of weeks. Then all of a sudden it will drop 30-40 degrees overnight and be freezing for a couple of months.

I wasn't talking about wthe eather. I was talking about your age. Nice to know that, sometimes, you are dropping 30-40 overnight!

Put them to bed for the winter.

Cocoon consisting of a new 12 x 20 heavy tarp put down on the ground. Drive car over, centered front to back and left to right. Install a new car cover. Apply several moving blankets over the top of the car, then foam floor tiles used for excercising over that. Then tie the tarp up over the top of the car pulling the sides up as high as possible and gathering the front and rear. Finally a new 12 x 20 tarp over the top, tieing off the front and the rear to pull the tarp taut.

Before closing them in, full tank of fresh gas, marine type Stabil for the fuel and a variety of anti mouse treatments consisting of peppermint oil, dryer sheets, Irish Spring soap and sachets of herbs which are apparently disliked by mice.

So far this has worked each year for both the X and the Miata. No mice, no leaks and given today was dry little condensation inside the cars over the months of non use.

That's quite the ordeal. But absolutely necessary given your location. So grateful for my friend's garage. It's a real blessing.

Wow, your car is really coming along nicely. And it looks amazing, well done. 🏅

I like the upholstery on the seats. Is that a tweed fabric on the bolsters and inserts? I am doing something very similar on a set of seats for another (non-Fiat) project' black tweed bolsters with grey print inserts. If you have a clear close up pic of the fabric I'd like to see it. ;)

That switch is definitely something a PO has added. No telling what it was used for; a horn, a replacement for a faulty start switch, some auxiliary lighting, etc.
